Her Story
I'm Edwige M. Jean — an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Certified Postpartum Doula (PPD), and Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) with a Bachelor of Science in Maternal Child Health, concentrating on Human Lactation. But honestly, my journey didn't start with a credential. It started with my own son.
Becoming a mother changed everything for me. I experienced firsthand how isolating and overwhelming those early days can feel — even when you think you're prepared. That experience lit a fire in me to make sure other families never have to figure it out alone.
For over 15 years, I've worked in OB/GYN and maternal-child health, and I currently work on a hospital postpartum unit where I have the privilege of supporting new families during one of the most significant moments of their lives. I've sat beside mothers at 3am, helped babies latch for the first time, and walked families through the hardest and most beautiful transitions of their lives. That work never gets old.
Whether you're navigating breastfeeding challenges, recovering from birth, or just trying to find your footing as a new parent — I meet you exactly where you are. With patience, compassion, and the clinical expertise to back it up. I'm also proud to be actively involved with the Boston Breastfeeding Coalition, advocating for families in our community every day.
This work is personal to me. And when you work with me, you'll feel that.
